Elder Ronald McCoy

The Riel Love Foundation is proud to present Elder Ronald McCoy with the "2022 Light Award".  Elder  Ron is the first recipient of this award and exemplifies perfectly what it represents.  He is being honored by the Riel Love Foundation for his good works towards many and consistently being a bright light in the community.  Elder McCoy is an elder at World Overcomers Christian Church in Durham, NC.  He is a part of the WOCC Power Source Prayer Team and intercedes on behalf of those desiring prayer as well as teaches on the Zoom meetings.  He is also part of a group of men who pray at local schools for the success of students before they arrive.  

 

Some of the schools include:

-Fayetteville Elementary 

-CC Spaulding Elementary 

-Shepard Magnet Middle School

-Hillside High School 

 

In addition, he is a member of the Riel Love Outreach Team and helps purchase, prepare and distribute food to the homeless.  He volunteers with Durham Community Land Trust assisting in landscaping, painting and renovating houses. Elder Ron also singles out needy individuals in the community to support in various ways.  

 

Below are some of the methods he helps those in need:

-assisting with banking and bill payment 

-providing hot meals

-transporting to various places

-cutting grass

-picking up medication for the sick
